Porsche 962 TS/03C Team Schuppan

This full carbon chassis car was originally built for Le Mans 1991.

Re-numbered tub, most likely to be 01C is ex Schuppan full carbon-chassis car, featuring a similar chassis to a TWR Jaguar, being built by the same company, Advanced.

03C was rebuilt from TS01C to the design of Max Bostrom (who also designed the Aston Martin AMR1 Group C cars) as a special project for Le Mans 1991. Featuring a unique body and christened “The Stealth”. Sadly it was literally being finished in the paddock at Le Mans, and had not been tested. After the practice, it was clear that there was still further aero development to do, and the team switched to race the T-car. A long legal battle followed between Schuppan and Bostrom, and the car was kept in storage in Japan whilst this went on.

It was brought over to the UK in 2004, and was restored by Group C Ltd, with Trevor Crisp completing most of the work – he was part of the Schuppan team in 1991, and worked on this car originally at Le Mans! The aero faults are corrected now, and it has been decided to retain the unique body, rather than convert back to the earlier car’s body.

The car was raced by Mark Sumpter in 2006. It has a freshly rebuilt engine and new carbon nose box and is ready to go, not having raced since a rebuild.

The car was restored during 2005/6 by Group C Ltd. with original 1991 Schuppan team member "Trevor Crisp" completing most of the work.

Raced successfully in 2006 with podium results at each meeting.

The car has since been re-built to offer a race ready entry for Le Mans this season.

Price: £385,000
