Group 44 Inc. Jaguar XJR-7/002

The car being offered for sale is Group 44 Inc.’s Jaguar XJR-7, chassis #002.  The XJR-7 was the second generation ground effects prototype race car for Group 44 Inc to race in the US based IMSA Camel GTP series as an official Jaguar factory entry.  As with the XJR-5, the XJR-7 was designed by Lee Dykstra and manufactured in the Winchester, VA Group 44 Inc shops.

The XJR-7 has a carbon fiber reinforced aluminum monocoque chassis, with an aluminum honeycomb floor, steel bulkheads and steel rollover structure.  The body is of carbon-kevlar construction.  The engine is a 6.0 liter, 90 degree, water cooled, Jaguar V-12 unit with fuel injection.  The gearbox is a Hewland VGC 5 speed unit.

The car has received a restoration at the shop of Albright Engineering, in Stuart, FL.
